Marsena was my superb host, my bestest of friends and a very kind-hearted person. I met her through couchsurfing and then showed up at her place without even calling her from thousands of miles away. Yet she was mst generous enough to provide me the most royal treatment and gave me the large part of her house not just for few weeks but for the most of my time in US during my 2008 visit. It would be crazy enough to tell that before knowing her, I didnot even know that Sears tower is in Chicago and never really had seen the american way of life. But from
day one to maybe
day one hundred and something that I got to live as her room mate, she became my best friend in US and provided me with advice, guidance, food, shelter, my own pet, internet, a free cell phone and a whole bunch of irreplacable friends that made me see all the good in american
people against which I was so much told back home in my country and surroundings.
I got to see, live and experience a non-stereotypical way of life and she made me trust couchsurfing so much that there is no looking back for me now. I love and trust strangers now as much as my own people and am more then willing to make friends out of the most difficult of human beings. Right now, am more then ten thousand miles away from her and there is so much more I can write about her but for now, I hope and pray that we remain as good of friends for good and Gus-our lovely cat and the most beautiful and loveable pet in this world lives as long as we do.... here is a link to an article in TIMEOUT CHICAGO that was done about couchsurfing while I was there....
(now thats how good of a host and person she is)
lastly...not to mention, I fell in love LOVE LOVEEE with Chicago.....its summers are the most enviable (dun know if am spelling it right)....
